I'm very glad my $410 didn't go to waste. The money thrown in for my Japanese classes & also those big bucks spent on buying Japanese dramas are showing me its results!
I had lunch over at Food Republic in Wisma earlier this afternoon before class. It was friggin' crowded & the food aren't that great. I like the concept though. Anyway, I shared a table with 3 Japanese - 2 girls & a guy. They're prolly around late twenties & have been in Singapore for years I guess. They look pretty much acustomed to everything here. And the lady sitting directly opposite me is so pretty! Not exactly gorgeous but she's those of natural beauty. Very fair & she has flawless complexion. She didn't have any make-up on at all! I kept stealing glances at her, I admit. Hehehehe! Besides "peeping" at her, I was ermm...also...listening to their conversation. I know it's rude, but I can't help it! I get very excited around Japanese btw. LOL! But I always manage to keep a cool front & pretend I can't be bothered.
Anyhow, my point is, while listening to their conversation, I actually managed to pick up complete sentences & understand the whole meaning! Perhaps 45% of the whole 30 minutes or so conversation they had. Blame it on the noisy background & they speed they were speaking at. I could've add another 5% But it's a good start!
And later in the evening, I headed down to Isetan Supermarket for their Nigiwai Masturi Fair. Found my favourite Taiyaki & queued for it happily. As always, the chefs Isetan gets for these kinda food fairs are always authentic Japanese. So, before I could wonder where the hell did my courage come from, I started to make my order in Japanese to the chef. And imagine my exhilaration when he understood me! *faints* Hahahaha!
Cheap thrills I know. But hell! I'm happy! *does a air punch with fist* Faito! Faito! Ganbatte! \(^ o ^)/
