Someone just said I'm gross. Someone just asked me to get away from her. Just because I'm almost a decade younger than her. This is the second time, someone said that to me. Is it really disgusting to be young? You guys are just jealous! =P Right? My 30-odd year old friends, LK & Nak?
It all happened when I passed the birthday card for my colleague to one of my editors. My colleague who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow is 24 this year, and editor N says she is friggin young...
N: How old is she?
Me: 24.
N: Wah so young?
Me: Wait till you know my age...
N: How old are you?
Me: Well, 20!
N: (in a state of shock) Really? Don't bluff!
Me: REALLY!
N: Don't bluff lah!
Me: Don't believe you check company record..
N: YOU ARE UNDER-AGE!
Me: Gonna be 21 lah! Birthday coming soon...
N: When?
Me: 28th November
N: Chey!
Me: So actually I'm 21...
N: So gross! Get away from me...I'm almost a decade older than you!!! (laughs)
Me: You are the 2nd 30 plus year old I know that says that
N: (slams the table) I'M NOT 30 PLUS YET!
Me: Okay...30
N: NOT 30 ALSO!
Me: OKAY...29!
N: Mmmm... (laughs)
See how age matters to women? Like what I said to another colleague, age is just a figure. It's how you deal with it psychologically, and how you look physically. N don't look anywhere near 30. In fact when I first saw her, I thought she's a swinging 25-year-old bachelorette. (She's jumping with joy now.) What's the use of me being 20-years-old numerally, but looking 25-years-old physically? Sigh! =(
Does that make some women feel tad comforted?
