Yet again I'm flooded with spelling/grammer mistakes. In a recent survey done by IniQx Niaosen, the word DIARY has become the most common spelling mistakes these days. 9 out of 10 people spell it as DAIRY. I saw 3 within 1 day.
1.) somewhere in the forum
2.) an irc channel topic (go figure which one it is)
3.) somewhere in the same forum again
I'm just so god-damn sensitive to the word lately. (Or rather to every friggin' word I see.) I didn't mean to but the words just came out to me as though they were GIANTIC pimples popping all over my face. Too fucking big to be missed. I can't help it but correct the person. So, if you're among the few that I corrected, I'm sorry. It wasn't me. It's just the overly-meticulous genes I have in me. Look what excessive of proof-reading as done to me.
Remember the other day I commented something about communication & communications? I had a mini discussion with Diana & we both unable to decide what's right & what's wrong. So, Di went ahead & asked Jes (someone in my office) she didn't know either & we all curb our curious lil mind till the next day when Du-lai-er came into office. While walking to the foodcourt for lunch, I popped the question. He said either or is fine. I asked I thought communication should be used without a S? He said that's suppose to be the case. Di asked, then why do we have corporate communicationS? Du-lai-er said, because we have a B.A here. (never mind. personal joke.) But I wasn't quite satisfied with the answer. Then, all of sudden, this caucasian in front of us, stopped & said:
cau: I'm sorry! (I thought he wanted to ask for directions or something but I was wrong. Damn wrong) I don't know if I should say this but I overheard your conversation. I'm sorry but yes I did.
Me & Di: *laughs*
cau: I was still thinking should I or should I not. But I just couldn't resist
Me & Di: It's ok go ahead. *grins*
So along the way to the foodcourt, we had some S-kicking discussion that was pricking me like a thorn in my ass (pun intended). Well, finally my curious mind has been fed with. Communication is a very flexible word you see. It's not wrong if you use the S or left the S out. Either way is fine, what's more important is the context it's used in. Ok, end of English class.
